 Trishya Perera

owner/artistic director

Trishya Perera is a dancer, choreographer, teacher and judge who found her passion at a very young age. She has been trained in a range of different forms from classical to urban styles. Trishya graduated from York University in Toronto with a BFA honors in Dance. Trishya has choreographed for numerous plays, showcases and musicals with both her work and her self being represented in many industry showcases. Her musical theater experience continued as Consuela in “West Side Story” performed at The LOT in Toronto. She has had the opportunity to go on tour to Qatar, Fujairah, Dubai and Newfoundland with companies such as Creativiva & Echo Productions performing in “The Little Prince”, “Aladdin” & “Bonnie & Clyde”. Trishya is very grateful to have had the opportunity to produce and choreograph her own production, "All ApartTogether" in March of 2014. Her teaching experience took her to London, England where she taught Contemporary at Pineapple Dance Studio, which then opened doors to tour Western Canada teaching and performing contemporary dance. Trishya is honoured to have been on the judging panel for StarCatchers Dance Competition and Toronto International Youth Dance Festival. She moved to Vancouver in 2018 where she performed with Vancouver Opera, Yellowpoint Christmas Spectacular, The Main Event and is a resident dancer for The Darlings Cabaret. Being introduced to film she has had the greatest honour of working for choreographers Mandy Moore with assistant choreographers Jillian Meyers and Jeffrey Mortensen in NBC Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and, Kenny Ortega and Paul Becker with assistant choreographers Tori Caro and Louise Hradsky in NETFLIX Julie and the Phantoms. Most recently she moved to Los Angeles on a teaching contract teaching contemporary and hip hop to kids and youth. She cannot believe her dream came true in having her own dance studio. Trishya is very excited to shed her knowledge on the next generation and live out her dream as the studio owner of In Movement Dance Co!

Alejandra Isea

Tiny Tots Hip Hop, Tiny Tots Ballet/Tap, Tiny Tots Acro, Hip Hop

​Alejandra Isea Galindo was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela up until she turned 5 when she moved to Canada. She began her ballet training at the Academy of Fanny Montiel at 3 years of age. She has been training in various styles of dance including contemporary and hip-hop at Caulfield School of Dance for 11 years. She has just finished completing her RAD Advanced 1 exam with a Merit certificate. She began as an Assistant Teacher 5 years ago working with students from 2-8 years old. Alejandra also has 6 years of stage, on-film, and voice-over training under the direction of Mandy Tulloch and the agency of Lloyd Talent. She has been passionate about hip-hop since 2012 when she first started exploring it. Alejandra is ready to share her love of dance with all of her students and she is thrilled to be a part of the In Movement Dance Co team! ​ ​

Andrea Galindo

RAD Ballet, Adult Ballet, Adult Dance Fitness, Stretch & Strength

Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Andrea began her training in ballet when she was 6 years old with La Academia de Ballet Fanny Montiel. After immigrating to Canada in 2011, she started training at the Caulfield School of Dance, completing her Royal Academy of Dance Intermediate Vocational Examination and training with the Professional Training Division in ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, contemporary and musical theatre during the last three years of her training there. She also began her teaching with the Caulfield School of Dance as a Teaching Assistant, and then a Teacher Trainee, now specializing in teaching ballet and contemporary to students ages 2 to 15 years old. When not on the stage or in the studio, you can find Andrea backstage, as she has also trained and worked in stage production management under the mentorship of Mandy Tulloch. Andrea has performed in many productions including the Goh Ballet’s “The Nutcracker" and the Evergreen Cultural Centre's "Canada 150: the Show." Andrea has recently completed her Bachelor of Fine Arts at Simon Fraser University’s School for the Contemporary Arts and is excited to embark on a new chapter in her life, sharing her passion for dance with all of her students!

Bella Alton

Tiny Tots Acro, Acro, Adult Hip Hop

Bella has nurtured a passion for dance since childhood, competing in a variety of styles including Hip Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, Ballet, and Acro at both local and international levels. At just 16, Bella had the incredible opportunity to compete in the Hip Hop World Championships in Copenhagen, Denmark, proudly representing her country as a member of the Team Canada Senior Hip Hop crew while also supporting the junior and children’s teams in their training. Recently, she showcased her talent on a national stage, competing in Canada’s Got Talent with the hip hop group, A3 Ryderz, where she worked with industry professionals. That same year, she reached the finals of the World of Dance (WOD) in Los Angeles, California. Committed to advancing her dance education, Bella has completed numerous certifications, including Acrobatic Arts Level 1 and 2, Back Handsprings, IDTS Level 1, and Acrobatic Arts Flexibility and Contortion. Fun fact: she is also pursuing a BSc in Neuroscience! Bella is thrilled to share her love of dance with the community and is dedicated to fostering both technique and a passion for dance in all her students. She is especially excited to be teaching Acro and adult Hip Hop at IMD

Emily Waller

Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical

Emily's dance education began in Kelowna, BC at the age of three, immersing themself deeper at the age of nine as they expanded their training into Ballet, Pointe, Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary, and Flamenco. Emily has traveled to Los Angeles, Toronto, and Vancouver to train and perform with esteemed choreographers such as Christina Woodard and Alex Little. In 2021, they furthered their Contemporary and Ballet education in Kelowna through the training program The Body Project, all while taking part in the dance on film project titled IN/2 with the Centre for Arts and Technology. Since making the move to Vancouver, Emily has been training and performing under the directorship of Carol Mendes with AMOK Project; dancing on stage in the work titled NOWhere and taking part in a summer artist residency which partnered with NewWorks. Under the direction of Kylah Powell, they have performed in works titled IMPACT and Collabor8 with CollabArtCreations and rising choreographer Sarah Yu. Emily continues to work closely with AMOK and is striving to meet and collaborate with more artists in the Vancouver community as their career grows. Emily has always had a passion for dance and teaching and as they continue to grow their knowledge and experience, sharing that knowledge with young dancers while watching them deepen their love and passion for dance is such a wonderful experience!

 Tap, Adult Tap

Born in California, raised in Lake Country, B.C, Caleb (He/Him) is an emerging artist and teacher. Despite starting his journey with dance later than most, he has never allowed said tardiness to be an obstacle in his training. Leaving home at 17, Caleb has sought out many opportunities to grow and train, being a proud alumni of Harbour Dance Centre's Intensive Training program and The Source Dance Company. Recently, he has traveled to compete internationally as a member of TwoFourSeven company, worked as a choreographer for Reine Des Fleurs dit Poeme, and done skeleton crew and performance work with PRP Productions inc. Caleb strives to be true to his unique voice and outlook as an artist, and wishes to inspire others to feel the same.

Kaleah Crump

Adult Heels

Kaleah Crump has been exposed to the arts from a young age at a local studio in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Her journey began with Baton Twirling, acro, tap, jazz, and ballet. Since then, she has also been trained in hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, and modern. She has an open mind and is always looking for ways to improve her craft.   Her passion and hard work resulted in Kaleah earning scholarships which led to assisting at Triple Threat Dance Convention, and iDance Convention - while also taking her across Canada. She has taught at Soul Dance Intensive in Thompson, Manitoba, with Kaizen Dance Productions; and is currently an ambassador for Rutherford Movement Exchange in Toronto, Ontario, directed by Stephanie Rutherford.   Kaleah has enjoyed performing at live events such as: ColdPlay: Music of The Spheres World Tour, The Darlings Cabaret under the direction of Kathryn Schellenberg, The Sweet Spot directed by Jen Oleksiuk, Vancouver WE DAY, Vancouver’s Mural Festival, Vancouver PRIDE, Canada Day at the PNE, Welcome to the Main Event, Small Stage Productions: Snowflake Spectacular and the CFL Grey Cup Festival. She was also honoured to work with choreographers Mandy Moore, Jillian Meyers, Luther Brown, Christian Vincent, Jamal Sims, Heather Laura Gray, Jeffrey Mortensen, and Louise Hradsky.   Currently, Kaleah resides in Vancouver to continue pursuing dance. Having completed the Harbour Dance Centre's ITP, and multiple mentorship programs directed by Joe Tuliao, she is actively seeking new opportunities. Her most recent involvements were with Tubi’s “Sidelined: The QB Bad Boy and Me” as a dancer and Paramount+ “School Spirits” as a cheerleader. Kaleah is excited to build on her own skill set while spicing up your evenings in a heel! “Let’s DANCE!”

Paige McConnell

Parent & Tot, Tiny Tots Ballet, Tiny Tots Tap/Jazz, Tap

Paige McConnell began dancing at the age of 7, at her hometown studio The Guelph Academy of Dance, where she spent 11 years training in Ballet (RAD), Contemporary, Jazz, Tap, and Musical Theatre. She completed her Inter. foundation and Intermediate RAD Ballet Examinations, while also choreographing and performing with the CCVI Dance Inc. company! Following her high school graduation, Paige spent a year performing with the One Movement Dance Company(Cambridge, ON). In September of 2017, Paige made the move to BC to enter the SFU Contemporary Dance BFA program, where she spent 4 years learning from distinguished dance artists such as Rob Kitsos, Megan Walker-Straight and Judith Garay!  As an emerging contemporary dance artist, Paige is one half of the project based collaborative dance collective ‘Counterbalance Projects’. She is also a part of a mentorship program for dance artists through the New Works organization. As an independent creative, she is actively developing her skills in dance film direction, social media marketing, and annual planning.  Paige spent several years at her hometown studio gaining experience as an assistant teacher in Ballet, Jazz, and Contemporary classes before she began independently teaching classes full time for a variety of Summer Dance Camps! In 2020, Paige became a certified Yoga Instructor for both children and adults! Over the last year she has been teaching around Vancouver with Mind Moves; a company creating classes that combine children’s Yoga, creative movement, and mindfulness. Paige is incredibly passionate about teaching and working with young movers, and is looking forward to joining the In Movement Dance Co team!

Gayatri Sood

Hip Hop, Tap, Jazz

Gayatri began her dance journey in Port Moody, where she fell in love with styles like Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Hip-hop, Tap, Contemporary, and more. Competing from a young age, she developed both skill and a deep appreciation for choreography and the artistry of movement. Now pursuing a degree in Psychology at Simon Fraser University, Gayatri balances her academic studies with her passion for dance through teaching. She is dedicated to creating a fun, inclusive environment where students can express themselves, learn new things, and grow as dancers. Gayatri is excited to be joining the In Movement Dance Co. team this season!
